In early 2006, Kurt Stirnkorb, founder of Stirnkorb.com worked on site for Mobil Travel, building the company's primary web site, Mobil Travel Guide. Front end to back end the site was put together with a very small team that saw Kurt pulling double duty as both front end and back end developer. The site was designed to pull an amazing amount of data rated by reviewers on hotels, restaurants, spas, parks and recreational spots in the United States and display it in a fashion suitable for mass viewing. Also included was information on states, major cities and their respective statistics. Third party travel booking widgets were eventually added as the project neared launch.
